Celebrating 15 years of Walks and Talks in Totnes

Totnes Town Councillor Emily Price, the Mayor of Totnes, joined the Totnes Walk and Talk group last week to celebrate 15 years of wellbeing walking and talking in Totnes!

Totnes Walk and Talk is part of Ramblers UK Well-being Walks which are aimed at helping people to stay fit and healthy in spite of chronic illness, operations and bereavement. Many studies have shown that a dose of exercise, fresh air and good company is often more beneficial that prescribed medicines. However, the walks are open to everyone.

Walks take place on Mondays and Wednesdays at 10.30am and are led by trained walk leaders. The walks are free and start from various locations in Totnes. The walk programmes can be found in Totnes locations such as the Library, GP surgeries, Totnes Hospital, The Mansion and Totnes Climate Hub or by e mail request to Barbara at berp8888@gmail.com

Emily congratulated the group on its role in our community and expressed her hope that Totnes Walk & Talk would continue to recruit new walkers and Walk Leaders.
